  2. This presentation has been made on the basis of questionnaires provided to students in France, Scotland, Czech Republic and Spain. The questions were concerned with Poland and stereotypes about our country and people living here. We present here the results and our response to them.

  6. Stereotypes

  7. Food and drink Polish people eat pork and drink vodka.

  8. We have a lot of kinds of traditional Polish food.

  9. We also love eating hamburgers, hot dogs and pizza.

  10. The weather In Poland it is always cold.

  11. It is not really true... InPolandtheweatherisverychangeable. In winter it is often cold and snowy.

  12. Spring is quite cool but often warm and sunny.

  13. Summer may be cool and rainy or very hot and sunny.

  14. Autumn is full of colours

  15. Dress Polish wear flowery skirts and white blouses with waistcoat.

  16. We wear different clothes on different occasions. Elegant clothes when we celebrate something or we have important exams and casual clothes to school.

  17. School Polish school start at the age of 6 and teachers are very strict.

  18. We start education at the age of 6. We have to learn a lot but there is also time for fun. A few teachers are strict but most of them are quite friendly.

  19. Politics Poland is trying to recover from being made part of Communist Eastern Europe.

  20. Poland has still a lot of different problems but it is slowly getting better.

  21. Religion Polish people couldn’t be religious under communism now they can be.

  22. Polish people could be religious though there were many restrictions. Most of Polish are Catholics.

  23. Immigration Poland has lots of workers going to other countries to work.

  24. When Poland joined European Union, a lot of Polish people went to work to Ireland, UK or France.

  25. National wealth Poland is mostly poor and mostly farming.

  26. Poland is not as poor as it was during communism. It is not only farming, there are many factories, coal mines and a lot of different kinds of business units.

  33. Jedzenie i picie Polacy jedzą wieprzowinę i piją wódkę.

  34. Mamy wiele tradycyjnych polskich potraw.

  35. Uwielbiamy również jeść hamburgery, hot dogi, pizzę.

  36. Pogoda W Polsce jest zawsze zimno.

  37. To niezupełnie prawda... Pogoda w Polsce jest bardzo zmienna. W zimie jest często zimno i śnieżnie.

  38. Wiosną jest trochę chłodno, ale czasami jest ciepło i słonecznie.

  39. Lato może być chłodne i deszczowe albo gorące i słoneczne.

  40. Jesień jest pełna kolorów.

  41. Ubrania Polki noszą kwieciste spódnice i białe bluzki.

  42. Nosimy różne ubrania na różne okazje. Eleganckie ubrania kiedy świętujemy albo mamy ważne egzaminy, a swobodne do szkoły.

  43. Szkoła Polska szkoła zaczyna się wieku 6 lat, a nauczyciele są bardzo surowi.

  44. Edukację zaczynamy w wieku 6 lat. Musimy się dużo uczyć, ale jest też czas na zabawę. Niektórzy nauczyciele są surowi, ale większość jest bardzo przyjazna.

  45. Polityka Polska próbuje dojść do siebie po czasach komunistycznych.

  46. Polska ma ciągle dużo różnych problemów, ale ludziom generalnie jest coraz lepiej.

  47. Religia Polacy nie mogli być religijni w czasach komunistycznych, a teraz mogą.

  48. Polacy mogli być religijni jednakże było wiele ograniczeń. Większość Polaków jest katolikami.

  49. Emigracja Polska ma wielu robotników wyjeżdżających do pracy za granicę.

  50. Kiedy Polska weszła do Unii Europejskiej wielu Polaków wyjechało do pracy do Irlandii, Wielkiej Brytanii lub Francji.
