  1. DIGITAL PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION BILL - 2023 AS OF AUGUST 9, 2023, THE DIGITAL PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION BILL HAS BEEN ADOPTED BY BOTH HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT. FOLLOWING ITS SUCCESSFUL PASSING THROUGH BOTH HOUSES, THE MEASURE WILL NOW BE SUBMITTED FOR THE HON. PRESIDENT OF INDIA'S REVIEW AND ASSENT IN THE RAJYA SABHA. THE MANAGEMENT OF DIGITAL PERSONAL DATA IN INDIA, INCLUDING BOTH ONLINE AND OFFLINE DATA, IS THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE DPDPB 2023. THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA OUTSIDE OF INDIA IS ALSO PERMITTED IF IT ENTAILS OFFERING GOODS OR SERVICES TO INDIANS OR CREATING PROFILES OF THEM.
