You might think you don’t have to make any considerations while changing dog’s diet but you are wrong because switching your dog food actually upset your dogs’ stomach and cause them to be sick or diarrhoea.

  2. Changing the type of food If the diet you giving your dog doesn’t seem to be good to him then it’s time for a change. Changing a dog food doesn’t hurt as long as the change is done properly. Before selecting a new brand, look at the nutritional information on your current dog food and compare it with the new selected food.

  3. Are you changing the flavour, not brand? If you feed your dog a particular brand and only want to change the flavour then this will be an easy process. For example, if you feed your dog Arden Grange Lamb and Rice to Arden Grange Chicken then it will be an easy task and done within a few days and your dog shouldn’t suffer any side effect.

  4. Timescale for changing When it comes to change the brand, it is the best to make the change over a one-week period. Make sure you have enough of the old food to last a week when you going to purchase the new one. Then first feed the dog three-quarter old food with one-quarter new and keep to that formula for at least two-three days. Then change one-quarter old food and three-quarters new food for a final couple of days. Once a couple of days is up then switching completely to the new brand. BY changing your dog’s diet this way it will help to keep dog’s stomach settled.
