  3. Step 1: Build your testbed • Using CERN Hyper-V + SL5/6 • IPv4 static DHCP (registered in DNS) • Manual addition of IPv6 information to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 • Manual reverse DNS • gtv6-emi[01-20].cern.ch EMI IPv6 Testbed HEPIX IPv6 Meeting, Oct 2012

Step 3: Run Jobs? • BDII – Yaimconfig bound slapd to ipv4 only • Fixed upstream and released • Storage • SRM uses gSOAP which binds to 0.0.0.0 only • If AAAA present, client fails without retrying v4 • Patching possible, but would fork EMI (2.7.16) ver. • FTS • Oracle issues • Case sensitivity EMI IPv6 Testbed HEPIX IPv6 Meeting, Oct 2012

  7. UI – glite-ce-job-* fail if no AAAA record present for target on a dual stack UI • Bug in ARES – not trapping ARES_ENODATA and failing with resolver internal error • Works with patch to glite-lbjp-common-gss EMI IPv6 Testbed HEPIX IPv6 Meeting, Oct 2012

Where Next? • Expand testbed VM count slightly • New EGI rc releases will be installed on these hosts (dual stack) • If issues – check if v6 related • Override DNS, iptables, network tracing etc. • Will mean hassling network people (HINT – LanDB!) • Existing test instances won't be changed • No retrofit of IPv6 EMI IPv6 Testbed HEPIX IPv6 Meeting, Oct 2012
