FAN WINDING STEPS INVOLVED IN THE WINDING OF A FAN The following things must be kept in mind while choosing a fan for winding
Step 1CHOOSING A FAN we have different types of fans, but we wanted to go for a simplest one. Therefore we consulted a technicians and he guided us that ceiling fan could be the best for winding . So we chose ceiling fan for winding.
STEP 2LEARNING WINDING • Fan winding is such a thing you can't do it of yourselves. It involves some technical, steps where you would work with different electric devices. We consulted a technician in Golimar he taught us fan winding in a very easy way.
STEP 3HOW WINDING IS DONE? • Fan winding needs your technical skills, if you are good at work you can learn winding at least in one week • We bought a fan (not in working condition) and the technician opened and told us the basic steps taken for fan winding. • the technician opened and repaired the fan by using different tools and at last the fan was running • Then we started by our own and it took two days for us to make the fan running.
WINDING STEPS • First of all you would find the no of turns in the coil by counting one by one, if you are expert you can guess it. • Then you would make coils according to the no of turns. • Insulate the in the stator holes with a paper to avoid the contact of coil with the stator. • Now place the coils one by one on the stator • The process of placing coils is done for both starting and running winding.
After the completion of placing coils you would give connection of coils in both windings. • In last you would leave four wires, two of them are connected with each other which is known as common. • Then a series board is used for testing the winding , if it is not short circuited a bulb glow and other steps are done on the winding. • The starting winding is now connected with capacitor and the running winding is directly connected with main supply. • Then the capacitor is connected with main supply.
After the connections the fan is closed and is connected with the main supply. • If the fan is moving in anti clockwise direction, then it’s connections are reversed. • Anticlockwise movement is useless because it takes air towards the ceiling.
STEP 4CHOICE OF WIRE FOR WINDING • Winding can be done with any conductor , we chose silver because it was not much expensive. • You will spend 200 rupees for silver. If you want to do winding with copper you need to spend more than 500 rupees
