Network managers session at Educause • Wireless is now considered mission-critical, production traffic that must reach everywhere on campus • Network managers can’t just be “Layer 1-3 people” any more • Many/most devices becoming wireless only, creating the majority of network traffic • Example issue: iOS 7 upgrade creating campus traffic spikes (content delivery networks, caching, etc. can help) • “MiFi” devices treated as rogues—strategies being developed to disable them
