Objectives • Analyze and evaluate children’s rights in the United States and around the world. • Identify appropriate and relevant reference materials. • Compare differences between international policy and state policy drafting in relation to children’s rights.
Objectives cont. • Children will draw connections from their own experiences to children’s rights. • Students will develop mapping and charting skills. • Students will develop a broader visual awareness.
Days One: Is it a Right • UN and CRC introduction • Class activity: Filling out the U.S portion of “Is It a Right?” worksheet. • Group work: Fill out assigned country portion.
Day 2 • Statistical Analysis • Graphs, Maps, and Charts • Share and Compare
