  1. Can an Employer Change My Contract In the current climate with so much uncertainty, you might be wondering if your employer can make changes to your contract such as reducing your hours or pay. Under the law, there are clear situations where your employer can and cannot make such changes. The Law Your employer must comply with employment Solicitors legislation. If new laws are introduced that would affect your contract, your employer is legally obliged to make those changes. Otherwise, your contract can only be changed if you both agree. Your employer can request changes but it is up to you if you want to accept.

  2. That seems straightforward enough but there are a few other points you should keep in mind: The law only applies to your contractual terms such as your pay, hours, pension and sick pay. It does not cover things like breaks and rosters. These are considered work practices and are not part of your contractual agreement. Reducing your work hours If your employer is less busy than usual they might ask you to cut your hours, You don’t have to agree. However, if you do not agree you could end up being made redundant. In this event, your employer would need to justify their action and show that redundancy was the only option. Otherwise, you might be able to claim unfair dismissal. If your employer insists, you might feel you have no option but to leave. In this case, it could be seen as constructive dismissal – where you are not actually dismissed but forced to leave your job due to your employer's actions. Making your decision If your employer requests a change, you will need to weigh up the options and decide what is best for you. Whatever you decide, remember to get everything in writing. You might also want to take advice from your trade union or a legal advisor. More Detailed info visit @: https://tullylegal.blogspot.com/2020/10/can-employer-change-my-contract.html
