Introduction In this lesson introduce the pupils to the Little Beings. What are the Little Beings? • They possess many of the characteristics of a child • They are different from the children listening to the story • The Little Beings offer the children the possibility of seeing themselves with some aspects of themselves projected safely at a distance
Introduction continued • Using the Little Being stories may help the children towards an imaginative way of working with their experience and their childhood world at its best. • If children haven’t been introduced to the Little beings in Alive –O 3, then begin with the story “Being me” (Part 1) p.196
Through the week • Children will listen to the stories • Being Me ! 1,2,3,4. See pps. In Teachers Manual • Each child will make a Little Being pp 191-193 • Listen to the poem “Us”
Day 1 Prayer Time 1 Showing uniqueness of each child • Read story “Being Me” • Meditation- follow Tr Manual p.190
Day 2 Prayer Time 2 • Read story “Being Me! 2 • Children will make a Little Being and place it on the Sacred Space
Day 3 Prayer Time 3 Children listen to the story Being me! 3 Children learn • What the Little Beings discovered- they could love other Little Beings • Children sing and do movement to “Being Connected” • Shake hands with one another (teaching them the gesture for the Sign of Peace)
Day 4 Children will listen to the story • Being Me! 4 • Visualising and Imagining
Day 5 • Prayer Time Focus on Breath Prayer On the in breath say: “My God” On the out breath say: “You love us”
