Icebreaker • Please refrain from thinking about, talking about or letting me see you eat chocolate during this class session, OK? Thanks! • Pass the sandpaper and tell your group about the “rough spot” in your day.
What is Nurturance? It is defined as“caring for and encouraging the growth or development of someone or something.” HOW? Spend time, really listen, be affectionate and regularly do things you enjoy together.
Catch Your Child Being Good I want to encourage my child, so this week I will: Continue to Start to Stop
Prevention Tools Definition of prevention: The actions of stopping something from happening or arising; in this case, a misbehavior • Consider these four groups of prevention tools: • Change your attitude • Teach values and behaviors • Change the situation • Increase security
Know Yourself, Know Your Child Goodness of fit and circumstances play a part in the nurturance and prevention plan, too.
