Scientific problem:what kind of values that promote teachers volunteering,are function in reality of education, i.e. which values teachers recognize, to embody them into concrete action in education children with locomotion disorders.
The aim of the research – to reveal the values that motivate teachers volunteering children with locomotion disorders.
The objectives of the research: To find out the peculiarities of the education of children with locomotion disorders.To identify the values of teachers volunteering.
The method of the research: Quantitative research was applied to reveal the willingness of schools to educate children with locomotion disorders. The study included teachers (N=82) who worked with children with locomotion disorders, parents (N=22), growing children with locomotion disorders,parents(N=56) whose children have no disorders, but communicate with children having locomotion disorders.
The method of the research: Qualitative research was applied to reveal the values that motivate teachers volunteering children with locomotion disorders.The study included teachers (N=8), who were teaching and now are communicating as volunteers with children with locomotion disorders.
Value Values are an essential part of the actualization of human being.Values mark the horizon of a potential activity and behavioral dimensions and affect the whole human personality.
D. Darom promotes the idea of humanistic education and distribute values as: personal, interpersonal and social.Personal values include freedom of thought, personal responsibility and moral thinking and acting, work ethic;Interpersonal - cooperation, absence of manipulation and compulsion, equality of rights, another reception and care, appropriate solution of conflicts;Social - respect for human rights, anti-racism, peace, democracy, ecology, activity in the fight for freedom and the protection of oppressed minorities.
Teacher's values is the hidden curriculum, which does not depend on the particular subject, but permeates the whole educational process.Values are not recorded directly to learning objectives, but their formulation has a substantial effect, revealing approach to the subject they teach and disciple the horizon, which allows to define and differentiate the curriculum and the achievement of the expected technology. If the most important value for teacher will be subject knowledge, then the teacher will seek that students will remember the information and it will be a big probability that personal training will remain only formal goal.
Locomotion disorders Coordination disorder, inability to perform certain movements while changing body position is typical to people who have gross or minor motoric disorders. Such disorders are reffered to as locomotion disorders.Movement disorders can cause a variety of back and neck injuries, arthritis, rheumatism, as well as a various diseases of nervous system and some chronic diseases.
The situation with children with locomotion problems can be described as extraordinary, because their status could not be identified with neither the patient nor the man who does not have health problems.Impaired children do not participate in many spheres of public life, even if they are not separate from society. Scientific achievements in medical and technology area make opportunity to cooperate with children with locomotion disorders and teachers and others.
Lithuanian case Department of Statistics under the Lithuanian Government provides data only on children living in the city, with physical and motor disabilities, integration into mainstream classes. Of children living in rural areas with such problems, the data are not reported.
Voluntary work - is an opportunity for everyone, regardless of gender, race, nationality, religion, political belief, age or health, use your skills and experience to gain new knowledge, make friends, get involved and work to change the social life of the country. In 2009 in Lithuania was registered about 32 476 different non-government organizations. In 2010 in volunteering was involved about 20% of Lithuanian people.
The quantitative results of the study showed teachers and parents in an integrated approach to children with disorders locomotion, education in mainstream schools. The cooperation between teacher and children with locomotion disorders success depends on mutual trust. “…pleasure is to come to the child when he is waiting for you and always ready …” Often formal communication develops to communication and cooperation after lessons time. As example of such communication is a girl’s with locomotion disorders and teacher’s communication, which continues to this day even the girl finished a school for several years and continue her studies at university.Teacher says: „ Appeared little more than a teacher - student relationship. All of this has developed into a friendship based on mutual trust, shared passions (music, literature, drama), creative search and discovery. As the girl grew up and matured as a developer, was a need to print her book of poetry ...” . Our situation – the student become bigger than teacher. Her hobbies are very wide - from literature to art history - so Evelina is educated, critically thinking companion. With her you can discuss various topics, she has the original, positive, sense of humor. I am learning a lot from her and discovering new truth”.
Conclusion The survey also found that teachers and parents say that schools are not adapted locomotion problems with educating children in mainstream classrooms: not adapted to the physical environment, teachers are not prepared for such activities. Locomotion educating mentally retarded children, a significant teacher preparation, qualifications and experience. The results revealed that people love, sincerity, compassion, communication, trust and commitment are values that promote teachers to work with children with locomotion disorders.
