Who We Are: • WIC eLearning team’s mission is to create professional electronic learning that enhances the level of learner engagement through storytelling and the use of multi-media, thereby increasing retention of the learning.
Meet the Team: Diane Senffner • WIC eLearning Team Department Manager (manages team projects and oversees development): • Diane has her Masters Degree in Adult Education/ Distance Learning and is a certified Chronic Care Professional. • Diane has been developing eLearning for 12 years and concurrently, was a leadership trainer for 10 of those years. • She has a Croatian husband cooks amazing, healthy gourmet Mediterranean food!
Meet the Team: Tom Gardner • Instructional Designer/Flash Designer (writes storyboards and develops Flash animations): • Tom has a B.S. in Biology and an M.A. in Education, with Instructional Technology. • He has been producing online training the past 11 years. • He completed his first half-marathon this past January and is thrilled to work in the health and nutrition field.
Meet the Team: Jeff Lobaza • Contract Instructional Designer (writes storyboards and simulations): • Jeff has his B.S in chemistry. • He has been developing eLearning, specializing in computer program simulations for over 10 years. • He has written ten Hollywood screenplays and loves to write scenario-based learning.
Meet the Team: Tom Calpin • Contract Graphic Artist and Flash Designer (designs our programs and creates animations): • Tom attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia and graduated with an A.A.S. Degree in 3D Animation. • He worked for one of the leading eLearning companies in the U.S., KnowledgeNet. • Tom’s knowledge of IT, Flash design, eLearning development, and implementation has proven invaluable to our team.

Meet the Team: Kate Hoy • Video Producer (write scripts, produces video productions): • Kate graduated at the top of her class in Motion Picture and Film from SCC. • She has been producing award-winning films for AHCCCS and ADHS for 3 years. • Kate is a single mom of two teenagers and appreciates what WIC does for mothers all over the state of Arizona. She’s proud to be a part of a team that does such meaningful work.
Meet the Team: Dallas Teat • Video Production Specialist (films video productions): • Dallas received his A.A.S. in Video Production Technology • He has extensive experience in broadcast and entertainment as a production engineer for National Public Radio and as a professional puppeteer on "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.” • Dallas began developing video programs for WIC in 2007 and he finds his work fascinating.
What We’ve Done (in 18 mos) • 16 eLearning Modules & 2 ¾ hours of video training complete – • Bringing More to the Table – WIC Food Package Training for participants and for vendors in English and Spanish • WR PCE (9 modules), CLAS, Basic Nutrition (3 modules), Child Nutrition, Prenatal Nutrition, Post-Partum Nutrition • Vendor WIC Information Video • 6 eLearning Modules on tap (by end October) • Anthropometrics, Breastfeeding, Hematology, Preceptor Training, CSI: Risk Code Training • eLearning version of Advanced Infant Formula Training (by year’s end) • WIC 101/AIM Training (by early 2011)

We need your help… • WIC 201 Work Group 1 • Needs Analysis • Simple: We need to know what information Nutritionists of various levels need to be successful when they start their jobs. • We need YOUR help! • WIC 301 Work Group 2 • Needs Analysis • We need to know what new Directors need to be successful when they start their positions. • What leadership courses would be helpful? • What parts of budgeting are most important to cover? • We need YOUR help!
What other training do we need? • Work Group 3 - Identify other training as needed – i.e., developing practicum, future courses soft skills training
Next Steps? YOUR INPUT • Recruit you and your staff to take part in LMS work groups to propose content: • First work group to take place at September Face to Face • Work groups to take place at each Face to Face after that • Content will be created based on discussions at work groups and will be rolled out in 2012.
