What is Elearning? Definition of ELearning The Wikipedia states that “Electronic learning or eLearning is a general term used to refer to computer-enhanced learning. It is used interchangeably in so many contexts that it is critical to be clear what one means when one speaks of 'eLearning'. In many respects, it is commonly associated with the field of advanced learning technology (ALT), which deals with both the technologies and associated methodologies in learning using networked and/or multimedia technologies.”

Why do we need to build a Vision of elearning Practice? This is because New Zealand has established goals, priorities and strategies for education. These are - Government goals - Education priorities - Early childhood education strategy - Schooling strategy - Tertiary education strategy
The Elearning Overview should include: • Inclusive view and development of an eLearning vision for the whole school • How ICT will be used to improve Learning and Teaching within eLearning • Approaches to Staff Professional Development • Review process – ensuring that the goals within the vision have been reached within the time frame.
Goals • Inclusive • Networking • Interacting between classrooms, other schools worldwide • Professional Development • Access to social software • Interacting, publishing and editing • Multimedia • Games with an educational purpose • Including all concern in the vision
