The Attitude of a Soul Winner Is The Attitude of an Athlete • Scripture often depicts God’s People under the figure of an athlete. I Corinthians 9:24-27; Philippians 3:13-15; Hebrews 12:1. • Runners in a race, to win, had to go “all out;” they ran to receive a “corruptible crown.” • Christians run the race of life to receive an incorruptible crown, I Cor. 9:25, and in order to win souls, I Thessalonians 2:19,20. • Question: Do I, as a Christian, have the attitude of an athlete?

Matthew 22: 35-40; John 3:16,17; 13:1; 15:12,13; Romans 5:6-8; 2 Corinthians 12:15. • We must love God, we must love souls, we must love the truth. • Love prompts the greatest of all sacrifices! • Question: Do I have the attitude of a lover?
The Attitude of a Soul Winner isthe Attitude of a Farmer! • Scripture Depicts God’s people as farmers, Luke 8:3-5; 2 Timothy 2:6. • When Christians teach the word of God to others they are sowing the seed of the kingdom, I Corinthians 3:6; 9:11. • Too often the “seed” is left “in the barn,” Haggai 2:19. • Question: Do I have the attitude of a farmer?
The Attitude of a Soul Winner isthe Attitude of a Fisherman! • Scripture Depicts God’s people as fishermen, Matthew 4:18-22; Luke 5:1-11. • The disciples were to “catch men.” We, too, must throw out the life line, and catch men with the truth of the gospel! • Question: Do I, as a Christian, have the attitude of a fisherman? How often is my “hook” even in the water?

Conclusion: • In every realm of activity “attitude determines altitude.” What is your attitude about soul winning? • Let us develop the attitude of an athlete, the attitude of a soldier, the attitude of a lover, the attitude of a farmer, the attitude of a fisherman, the attitude of a disciple, and the attitude of a genuine Christian? • Question: What is the condition of your soul?
