  3. Location of the city • Érd belongs to the agglomeration ring of the capital • It’s the largest settlement of the agglomeration ring and in Pest county. Érd

The region of Érd and its characteristics • Érd area includes 6 settlements • Population of this area: cca. 100 000 inhabitants • Cca. 65 000 inhabitans only in Érd, and continuously increasing • No considerable factory and manufacturing industry in the city • Several shopping centres and an expanding industrial park • Considerable industrial firms in the surroundings • Most of the population still commuting to the workplace (Érd used to be called „sleeping city” in the past)
