LH & FSH • Released from the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. • LH: • Prompts Leydig cells to produce and release testosterone • FSH: • Will bind with testosterone and Sertoli cells to stimulate spermatogenesis
Hypothalamus and the hormones • Governs the secretion of LH, FSH and GnRH. • Secretes GnRH when the blood levels of testosterone & other factors are low • Released GnRh – induces anterior lobe of the pituitary gland to increase the production of LH and FSH.
