  3. The Prayer • Consists of 5 “Decades” • 10 Hail Mary prayers in each decade of the Rosary • Use the Rosary to meditate on scripture • 4 sets of Mysteries of the Rosary

  4. The Joyful Mysteries • Meditate and reflect on the incarnation • Events surrounding the coming of Christ into the world • The Annunciation • The Visitation • The Nativity • The Presentation • The Finding in the Temple

  5. The Luminous Mysteries • Added by Pope John Paul II in 2002 • Reflect on the life and teaching of Jesus • The Baptism of our Lord • The Wedding at Cana • The Proclamation of the Kingdom • The Transfiguration • The Institution of the Eucharist

  6. The Sorrowful Mysteries • Meditation on the Passion of Jesus • The Agony in the Garden • The Scourging at the Pillar • The Crowning with Thorns • Carrying of the Cross • The Crucifixion

  7. The Glorious Mysteries • Meditation on the events surrounding Jesus’ resurrection and ascension • The Resurrection • The Ascension • The Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles • The Assumption • The Coronation of Mary
