  2. The Command • Hebrews 12:14 • Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

  3. Who is God? • Leviticus 11:44 • For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: • Psalm 99:9 • Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

  4. Those who meet Him. • Moses • Exodus 3:5 • And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. • Joshua • Joshua 5:15 • And the captain of the LORD'S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standestis holy. And Joshua did so.

  5. Encounter with the holy one • Peter • Luke 5:8 • When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. • Jesus • Psalms 22: 3  • But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel.

  7. Everything about God is holy • Heaven • psalms 20:6 • Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. • Throne • Psalms 47:8  • God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

  8. Everything about God is holy • Mountain • Psalms 48:1 • Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. • Hill • Psalms 15:1 • LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

  9. Everything about God is holy • Works • Psalm 145:17 • The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. • Name • Psalm 145:21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless His holy name for ever and ever.

Everything about God is holy • THE CHURCH • Ephesians 5:25-27 • 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

  11. Everything about God is holy • People • 1 Peter 2:9 • But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: • His Word is Holy, His Spirit is Holy…..

  12. Everything about God is holy • 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 • I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

  13. The eternal song! • Revelation 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

  14. You should love what God loves! • If we want to be the children of God, we must love what God loves and hate with perfect hatred what God hates. • God loves holiness. Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god. (Malachi 2:11)

  15. How to serve Him • Luke 1:74-75 • That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,  In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. • He is in the holy of holies…in His tabernacle!

  16. Jesus is holy • Mark 1:24 • Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. • John 17:11And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee.   17. What is holiness? • It’s the character of Jesus Christ produced in a believer by the Holy Spirit. • It means to be set apart for God…any thing dedicated to God Becomes Holy. • E.g., Present your bodies a living sacrifice…Holy acceptable to God. (Romans 12:1-2)

  18. To be blessed • Matt 5:8 • Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. • Wow! What is the opposite of this verse?
