Appearance • The crocodile is brown , black , gray , or green. • Adult crocodiles are 4 to 23 feet. • They have webbed feet and a narrow snout. • A male is called a bull. • A female is called a cow.
Young • A baby is called a hatchling. • The crocodile has 25 to 90 babies. • The babies are born in 3 months. • The crocodile puts the babies in her mouth to protect them.
Food • Crocodiles eat fish , frogs , birds , and mammals. • They rip it apart or swallow it whole. • Most crocodiles eat once a week. • They eat less in winter because they hibernate.
