  2. Mobile, cloud-based app helps diabetes patients age 65+ and health care providers track health status. App includes front-end features for easy data entry and viewing results. Developed the app on schedule, within budget and met all requirements for functionality, accuracy and performance. Application development included: • Collected requirements by interviewing stakeholders to define application functionality and mobile requirements, as well as front-end features, such as colors and fonts seniors could easily read. • Conducted extensive research to find design characteristics beneficial to seniors, such ease of the Bluetooth connection and popups to guide their use of the device. • Developed the app using an iterative software development approach. Continued to add functionality and make changes after meetings with stakeholders. • Coded the app, in compliance with all requirements, which included changing existing JavaScript to integrate with Bluetooth and BLE so app finds Bluetooth device meter nearest to senior’s phone. • Changed the front-end using framework7. • Modified the JavaScript to read the patient’s data through Bluetooth into the application. • Added pop-up messages to make the app more user-friendly.

Technical Details Libraries used: Coding Challenges: After creating the PhoneGap application updated the JavaScript, installed npm missing packages, created new files and documents as well as adjusting and customizing the JavaScript but got errors and missing files. After research of PhoneGap and Cordova, found documentation and developed solutions until error free functioning app with all appropriate npm packages running smoothly To connect the Bluetooth meters to the app, researched to find the right BLE documentation to integrate JavaScript section by section then customized it to run correctly • PhoneGap • DevExtreme • Cordova Apache • Framework7 • Visual studio 2017 • Html5 • CSS • npm • JavaScript • Bluetooth • BLE
