  3. INTRODUCTION Dublin is the largest city and capital of Ireland. It is officially known in Irish as Baile Átha Cliath ; the English name comes from the Irish Dubh Linn meaning "black pool". It is located near the midpoint of Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey and at the centre of the Dublin Region. Originally founded as a Viking settlement, it evolved into the Kingdom of Dublin and became the island's primary city following the Norman invasion. Today, it is ranked 23rd in the Global Financial Centres Index has one of the fastest growing populations of any European capital city, and is listed by the GAWC as a global city with a ranking of Alpha - which places Dublin amongst the top 25 cities in the world. Dublin is a historical and contemporary cultural centre for the island of Ireland as well as a modern centre of education, the arts, administrative function, economy and industry.

  4. MUSIC The principal group of music known about Dublin is U2. U2 are a rock band formed in Dublin, Ireland. The band consists of Bono (vocals and rhythm guitar), The Edge (guitar, keyboards and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen Jr.(drums and percussion).

  5. SPORTS Dublin has been selected as the european capital of sport .The most important sports are rugby ,soccer and Gaelic Football. The nickname of the gaelic football is the Dubs. The Irish rugby union team is the national rugby team. The national aquatic centre is the first building to open in the Sports Campus Dublin The FAI League of Ireland is the irish soccer federation. It has got six teams The cork park is the Europe´s fourthlargest stadium

  6. FOOD Arthur Guinness was the productor of Guinness beer, the best beer of the world. The Guinness beer is made from water, barley, hops, brewer's yeast and is treated with isinglass finings. Guinness & Co makes almost €2 billion annually.
