  3. John F. Kennedy • JFK was born in Brookline, Massachusetts on May 29, 1917. • JFK first went to Princeton. He then went to Harvard and graduated.

  4. John F. Kennedy • JFK’s important achievement was being the 35th U.S. President. Interesting Facts: • He was the publisher of “Why England Slept.” • He stopped the Cuban missles.

  5. John F. Kennedy • JFK was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in 1963. • I admire JFK, because he was the first Catholic President.

  6. Eli Whitney By Paul William Ogle

  7. Eli Whitney • Eli Whitney was born on December 8, 1765 in Westborough, Massachusetts. • He graduated from Yale College in 1792.

  8. Eli Whitney • Eli Whitney’s important achievement was inventing the wire-tooth cotton gin. Interesting Facts: • He made a machine that makes knives. • He also took apart a watch and put it back together.

  9. Eli Whitney • Eli Whitney died on Jan. 8, 1825 in New Haven, Connecticut. • I admire Eli Whitney, because I also want to be an inventor.

  11. Jackie Robinson • Jackie was born in January 31, 1919 in Cairo, Georgia. • Jackie went to Pasadena Junior College and UCLA. He left UCLA before graduating.

  12. Jackie Robinson • Jackie’s important achievement is that his major-league career lasted 10 years. Interesting Facts: • He was the first African-American baseball player to play with white baseball players. • He spent most of his time playing with the Dodgers.

  13. Jackie Robinson • Jackie died on Oct.24,1972 in Stamford, Connecticut by a heart attack. • I admire Jackie Robinson because he opened doors for others minorities to play baseball.

  15. Amelia Earhart • Amelia was born on July 24, 1897 in Atchison Kansas. • Amelia attended Ogontz School and Columbia University School in New York City.

  16. Amelia Earhart • Amelia’s important achievement was becoming the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. Interesting Facts: • Amelia learned how to shoot a 22 rifle by shooting rats in hers fathers barn. • She designed cloths.

  17. Amelia Earhart • It is believed that Amelia’s plane crashed when trying to cross over the Pacific Ocean. Many people believed that she died during the plane crash. I admire Amelia Earhart because she was an inspiration to women to follow their dreams.

  20. George Washington’s important achievement was being the 1st President of the U.S.A. Interesting Facts: 1. He gave his country independence. 2. He was a soldier. George Washington

  21. He died on December 14,1799 because he caught a terrible cold. • I admire George Washington because he led an army. George Washington

  23. Abraham Lincoln • Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in Kentucky. • He received little formal education.

  24. Abraham Lincoln • Abraham Lincoln’s important achievement was being the 16th president of the U.S.A. Interesting Facts: 1. He was president during the Civil War. 2. He helped end slavery in the Confederate States.

  25. Abraham Lincoln • He was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth in 1865. • I admire Abraham Lincoln because I want to be a president like him.
