Background • Breakpoint-to-zone mapping is hard to visualize during hotline call • Due to this issue, occasionally the TCV does not match expectations and corrections are needed • This process leads to lingering zones and issues in the HLS and for customers • Issues can take days to appear (i.e. when warnings cancelled)

  3. Proposal • Preliminary TCV (TPV) issued just before or at the beginning of the hotline call • Sent to WFOs in same way as RCL • WFOs use a new tool (ViewTPV) which allows forecasters to see proposed hazard area • Works similar to ViewWCL • Any changes needed are incorporated into TCV • Greatly reduces need for corrections
