VATSoft Application • VATsoft is application name for VAT System • VATsoft is transparent and workflow based system with number of checks and balances • VATsoft meets all the requirements of the front end offices of VAT – processing of registration, return, tax collection and reconciliation, statutory forms, refund, additional demand, etc. • VATsoft also meets the requirements of the supporting wings of Dept:- Audit Wing, Enforcement Wing, Appeal Wing, Litigation Wing, Check Posts, etc.
Other Applications • PELsoft is an application for computerisation of Minor Acts. It meets the requirements of Luxury, Professional, Entertainment, Agricultural IT. • Checksoft is application for check posts. It meets the requirements of the check post activities. • VAT Online System is an application to capture the data of purchase, sale, and export sale / return directly from the dealers; issue of the statutory forms; collection of taxes etc.

Implementation Status • VATsoft is running successfully in all the front and back end offices since 2006-07 • VATsoft has the data related to the dealers, entered by all the wings, since April 2005 • PELsoft is running successfully in offices of the Minor Acts from 2007-08 • Checksoft is rolled out in all check posts successfully. It needs WAN connectivity for effective utilisation of this system
Online Systems & Implementation Status • VAT eFS – Online system to capture the details of sale / purchase / export invoices from the notified dealers. • 500+ dealers using from Sep 2007 • 26000+ dealers are now enabled for e-filing • e – VATforms – Online issue and collection of VAT/CST forms is successfully running for more than a month with 16000+ dealers of 5 offices and major dealers of State. It will be extended for other offices in phased manner. • e – payment – Online tax payment system is ready for implementation. It will be made online shortly • EDI system, among CTD, Banks and Treasury, is successfully running from Nov. 2008.

Business Re-engineering • Reduction in number of offices from 376 to 95 • Separation of front-end activities and back-end activities • Automatic selection of cases for audit based on risk factors & automatic assignment to officers • Online System - e-filing, e-payment, e-forms
Future Plans • e – registration – Online registration system • Enforcing the dealers to submit the returns with digital signature/PKI • Web based and SMS based system to capture the data of movement of goods • Hand held device for mobile check posts • Building Business Intelligence & GIS System
