  1. Apply the Law of Sines

    Notes 23 – Section 13.5
  2. Essential Learnings Students will understand and be able to use the Law of Sines. Students will be able to use the Law of Sines to solve problems.
  3. Law of Sines
  4. Vocabulary Law of Sines or where a, b, and c are sides in ∆ABC
  5. Law of Sines Used to solve triangles when you know either: Two angles and the length of one side Two sides and an angle opposite one of the two sides
  6. Example 1: 2 Angles & 1 Side Solve ∆ABC given A = 78, B = 42, a = 5 feet.
  7. Example 2: 1 Angle & 2 Sides Solve ∆ABC given A = 43, a = 37 m, c = 25 m. B 37 m 25 m 43 A C
  8. Class Problem Solve ∆ABC given A = 48, B = 86, c = 10 in.
  9. Example 3 Two poles are found leaning against each other. The lengths of the poles are 25 and 30 feet. The angle that the 25 foot pole makes with the ground is 40. Find the distance between the two poles.
  10. Area of a Triangle
  11. Area of a Triangle
  12. Example 4 Find the area of a triangular lot given a = 100m, b = 70m, and C = 110.
  13. Assignment p. 886: 29 – 38 (x3), 43 WS 2 – Law of Sines Unit Study Guide 8 Quiz – Thursday/Friday
