State income & expenditure • Read the Funding of Georgia’s government on page 539 • Figure 65 budget revenue & figure 66 budget expenditure • Why do you think the state spends most money on education? • Due to budget cuts in recent years expenditures have to be cut down. If you were the governor, congressman/woman or senator which service will you cut and why? (Explain your answer in at least one paragraph)
Georgia’s revenue and expenditure • (1) Determine the top 5 areas Georgia’s government spends and collects money from • (2) Create 2 pie charts or 2 bar graphs to illustrate these figures (Use exponents to illustrate figures) • (3) Compare the graphs and determine weather the expenditure exceeds the revenue • (4) If the answer for the above question is yes which service provided by the state will you consider cutting to save money and why? • (5) Explain your answer in at least 4 sentences/bullet points.
