SOO LOCKS. What lakes do the Soo locks connect. It connects Lake Huron and Lake Superior The locks have a lake on either side of it It is located in the U.P. in Sault St.MARIE on the St. Mary’s river. The locks are huge gates that allow ships to get from one lake to the next.

For boats to be able to ship their goods What does portage mean… . It means carrying boats and their loads over land between waterways WHY DO WE NEED THE LOCKS?
