  2. Analysis of Responses Reception Parent / Carer Responses – 5 out of 15 families = 33.3% (1 return = 20%) The school underwent an full Ofsted Inspection – May 2014. Parents had an opportunity to discuss their views with ‘Parent View’ & talk to the inspector

From Total Responses • Key Points – from comments made on forms & data – POSITIVE • The OVERALL picture is VERY POSITIVE • – Improvement since last questionnaire; particularly with ‘strongly agree’ category • - However, the school underwent a full Ofsted Inspection during early May 2014 & parents / carers had opportunities to speak to the Inspector +complete a questionnaire • - 72.1% average = ‘strongly agreed’ (May 2013) compared to 85% average (May 2014) • - 100% either ‘strongly agreed / agreed’ with all questions – except 1 response (due to personal child care – Q6)

Reception / Induction Issues – From Responses • From comments made on forms & data – MAIN ISSUES to be addressed • 1 comment – Lots of info at 1st Induction Evening – Uniform list would be useful (make parents more aware it is within prospectus) • 1 comment – Date list on web-site (easier sign-posting for dates on web-site?) • 1 comment – Make clear to new parents which whole school events they can attend (within newsletters make this clear & explain routine events – e.g. ‘Show / Tell Assemblies’ • 1 comment – Provide children who are ready with full-time opportunity (if this is appropriate from professional viewpoint as well) • 2 comments – Lots of people ‘over-crowding’ in the conservatory (this might need adjusting next year?)

Comments – Positive Feedback - 1 • Visits to the playgroups worked well from Miss Craddock & Mrs Dennett • Parent Assemblies are ‘wonderful’ • Easy transition to school • ‘The journey into school has been seamless’ • ‘Thank you. My child is still enthusiastic about going to school in the morning – something must be fab!’. Well done to all the staff. • ‘We are thrilled with Thornford School & as so pleased our younger daughter will be joining in September’ • ‘All the extra support, advice & guidance with X has been much appreciated’ • Good to have lots of outside activities • ‘X settled in so well & loves school’ • ‘Thank you all for all your dedication and hard work’
