General Shop Safety. No horseplay. Do not operate machines or power-tools until you are licensed. Keep the shop clean and organized. *Wear safety glasses at all times within the shop. Loose clothing must be removed or contained. Roll long-sleeves up past the elbow. Keep all guards in place.

  1. General Shop Safety

  2. No horseplay.

  3. Do not operate machines or power-tools until you are licensed.

  4. Keep the shop clean and organized.

  5. *Wear safety glasses at all times within the shop.

  6. Loose clothing must be removed or contained.

  7. Roll long-sleeves up past the elbow.

  8. Keep all guards in place.

  9. Never walk away from a machine that is still running.

  10. *Never interrupt a person who is operating a machine.

  11. Always keep your fingers away from the blades or cutters. (6” margin of safety)

  12. Always use a brush to clean off benches and machines, not your hands.

  13. Report strange noises or odors in the shop.

  14. Do not operate any of the machinery without proper supervision.

  15. When making blade changes or adjustments, kill the power (unplug) first.

  16. Report all injuries, no matter how minor.

  17. Only an operator should turn a machine on or off.

  18. Clear all machines of scrap, only when the machine is not running.

  19. Do not toss or throw anything in the shop.

  21. *Never use any machines or power-tools when you are tired, in a rush, or under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
