Overview • 8x8 elements and 2x2 elements circular waveguide array antennas have been developed for millimeter-wave ad hoc wireless access system. • To realize single side band self-heterodyne scheme with small size, these antennas have built-in 5stage waveguide filters. • The antenna gain of more than 25dBi is measured for 8x8 element antenna, and the loss of 5stage filter is less than 1.0dB. Conclusion • We developed the 2x2 element circular polarized (RHCP) antenna with built-in filter for 70GHz band ad hoc wireless link, and 8x8 element linear polarized antenna with built-in filter for 60GHz band wireless link and good characteristics are obtained. • The antenna gain of 8x8 element antenna is as large as 25.5dBi without filter. The loss of the filter for 70GHz band wireless link in pass band is lower than 1.0dB. The rejection for USB is larger than 30dB. • These results confirmed that the circular waveguide array antenna is suitable for broadband millimeter-wave wireless system. • Also we realized very small size antenna with built-in filter. The size of the 2x2 element antenna with built-in filter is 40mmx24mmx11mm, and that of the 8x8 element antenna is as small as 45.6mmx45.6mmx11mm Reed Fisher, Seiji Nishi Oki, Hiroyo Ogawa CRL
