Dewi Emrys was a famous Welsh writer who grew up knowing Shemi He wrote about Shemi in this book published in 1937
D.J. Williams ( left) was another Welsh writer who made a radio programme on Shemi in 1936

Mary’s father knew lots about Shemi and told her some of the stories
