Pole Top Rescue Lineman in trouble is discovered Worker calls for assistance from truck Puts on climbing gear Climbs pole for rescue
Pole Top Rescue Lineman secures his own safety Then works on the unhooking and lowering of the other worker Once on ground, rescuer will perform CPR until emergency personnel arrives
Cross Arm Change-out First there is a discussion of the job to be done Then the first worker climbs the pole and secures his safety. The second lineman then can climb up
Cross Arm Change-out Now that both workers are on the pole, they can work together to change the cross arm
Cross Arm Change-out Once the cross arm has been removed, it can be lowered to the ground. The ground crew will change out the arm and a new one will be raised to be attached
Cross Arm Change-out Once the arm is reattached, the lines are reattached Now the job is done and the linemen can climb down.

Live Line Demonstration This demonstration was done in two parts: at low voltage and high voltage Demonstrations were done to show the wide variety of items that can be conductors when they interact with live lines
Live Line Demonstration • Items tested: • Tree • Kite String • Mylar balloon • Ladder • Fireman’s boot • Lineman’s boot • Rubber Glove They also showed what occurred when the typically proper shoes and gloves were damaged. When those have holes, they are going to be conductors, just like anything else.
Pole Mounted Transformer Change When a transformer needs to be changed, a lineman will climb up and start preparing the transformer for removal
Pole Mounted Transformer Change The truck operator will be bringing the transformer down with the crane once the lineman has attached it to the crane and removed it from the pole.
Pole Mounted Transformer Change Once the transformer is on the ground, it is removed and a new one is attached. It is brought back up to the lineman for reconnection. Once the transformer is reconnected, the lineman will climb down.
