What is a Noun? • A noun is a word used to name a person, animal, place, thing, and abstract idea.
Explanation • Now that I have given you the basic information of what a noun is, on the next slide I have some examples of what a noun could be. Pay close attention, because I will ask you to give me some examples in a little while.

What is a Verb? • A word that expresses action or being.
Explanation • Verbs are sometimes hard to understand. The action verbs make sense, but verbs have a tricky side. They are called being verbs. They are verbs like be, is, does, and other forms of be. I will give you examples of all kinds of verbs on the next slide. Once again pay attention I will ask you for examples at the end.
