The new muffler constructionI Went to Harvey Briggs Welding & Radiator shop located in Charlestown/ Ranson, West Virginia and bought some pieces of metal and I cut out the pieces with the plasma cutter
I first cut a square piece of metal and welded it into the center of the 5 inch pipe
I next tacked the coupling to the end plate and left a good inch inside between the end of the coupling and the baffle plate
I screwed in the piece pf pipe to keep welding slag off the inside threads of the coupling
Here I have welded the outlet pipe to the end plate and chucked it into the lathe so as to hit it with a hammer and get it somewhat inline (TRUED it UP)
I have it trued up and welded but good now to spin her around and make a final good looking heavy duty muffler
You would be surprised what a good ole country boy can do with a little time on his hands
I am not going to screw it on yetI am going over to Briggs’ and see if it passes his ok( Come on Harvey give it the once over)
Grilles were a real piece of workHarvey Briggs helped once again as he supplied the metal to make the bending jig to form the bends on the grilles
