  1. VYI2006 Scholarship and Hall ofFame Banquet

  2. Introduction • The VYI Scholarship Program began in 1997 with a modest budget of $4500. This year the VYI Board of Directors has voted to assign $35,000 for scholarship awards. VYI is organized as a 501 (c)(3) not for profit corporation. The funds utilized to pay for the scholarships are derived from the dividends and interest related to an endowment fund created over the past ten years.

  3. Honorees • Each of the individuals to be honored this evening with a scholarship is a student athlete who competed or volunteered recently for VYI and who attained a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 over their high school career. In addition, they are exceptional community leaders and contributors to the Vienna area and Fairfax County.

  4. Most Valuable Players • Each of the individuals to be honored this evening with a Most Valuable Player award is a student athlete who competed or volunteered recently for VYI and who excelled in athletics over their high school career. In addition, they are good students, exceptional community leaders and contributors to the Vienna area and Fairfax County.
