T-506 REPORT FOR 6-22-13 • Start at 5.88 GeV; 150 pC; 5 Hz • 9:50 Complete 1st of four 5-MRad runs • 12:30 Complete 2nd of four 5-Mrad runs • 15:10 Complete 3rd of four 5-Mrad runs • 16:40 Begin 1st of four 23-MRad runs • 18:10 Beam down to change energy after 9.7 MRad • Continue at 4.11 GeV; 150 pC; 5 Hz • 19:45 Beam back up • 21:00 Beam off after 5.0 MRad; total for run so far 14.8 MRad
T-506 REPORT FOR 6-22-13 CONTINUED • ADDITIONAL ISSUES • Measured dose through 1cm x1cm radiochroic film for three “5 MRad” runs: 6 measurements (3 runs times two wavelngths) ranged between 1.0 and 1.7 MRad. Much less than 5.1 expected from my Eggs simulation. • Is alignment off? Attach array of five films to second 5 MRad sample: No. Alignment is right on. • Calibration? Perhaps I made a mistake in my Eggs-based estimates. Will try to get Ludovic to check. • However: whatever the answer, we are making the most that can be made of the beam time.
T-506 STRAW RUN PLAN FOR 6-23-13 8:30-9:00 Prepare for day’s running 9:00-11:00 Finish first long run 11:00-12:00 Cool down 12:00-1:00 Change sample Then a branch point… 5.88 GeV 23 MRad = 4 hours 4.11 GeV 23 MRad = 6 hours 1 5 MRad run left to do (roughly 1 hour at either energy) In all likelihood, will do long run, then see if time for final short run. To make best use of next week, will need to evaluate samples, but they won’t arrive until Tuesday unless someone is allowed to drive them down Monday to Santa Cruz.
