2. Q1. Who is the Player? • I chose the Spanish player David Villa. He was born on December 3, 1981 in Langreo, Asturias, Spain. He currently plays as a striker for FC Barcelona.

3. Q2.What club, team or country does he/she play for? • He plays for Barcelona and is number 7. The Barcelona Team was founded as Foot-Ball Club Barcelona in 1899 by a group of footballers; the club has become a symbol of Catalan culture.

4. Q3. What is the player’s background, how long have they been playing, what positions does he/she play? • David Villa was the son of a miner in Tuilla, a small village in Langreo, Asturias, a region in northern Spain.His professional career was put in jeopardy when he suffered a fracture to his thighbone at the age of nine, but made a complete recovery. He got his professional breakthrough at his local club Sporting de Gijón, for whom he made his first-team debut in the 2000–01 season. The next season he was a first team regular, scoring 18 league goals, and scored 20 the next season. After shooting over 50 goals in just three seasons at Gijón, he got his chance in Spain's top-flight La Liga.

5. Q4.What does this player do on the field that makes them so good? (Use Football terminology if possible • He is the second all-time scorer Spain. He is a great striker and he can strike with both feet. He is also a great scorer and attacker. He is great at dribbling the ball and passing it to others. He is a fast runner and is good at playing defense.

6. Why do you enjoy watching this particular player more than others? Give specific examples of great passages of play they have been involved in. • Well, he has better skills than some other players, which makes me excited when I see him play. He is usually a great scorer so I love to watch him play. For example; Villa helped secure Spain’s place in the round of 16 after scoring the first goal in a 2-1 win over Chile, with a long-range shot into an empty net after the goalkeeper ran out of his area to prevent Torres from scoring. The goal would become his 6th goal in FIFA World Cup matches, becoming Spain’s world top scorer at the World Cup Finals.

What are 3 questions you would ask the player if you had a chance to interview them for TV and why? • Do you play football for only winning, or for the love of the game? • I would ask this question because it’s important to know the attitude of the players you look up to. Maybe the player you liked only played for winning all along. • What is your favorite part of football? • I would ask this question to find out what the best players enjoy the most. • When you were a child did you always want to become a football player? • This question would be helpful to see if your favorite player pursued his dream or not.
