FAOSD Background • The FAOSD program was developed according to ICAO Doc 8335 – procedures regarding commercial transport operations by foreign operators, Part VI – State responsibilities regarding commercial air transport operations by foreign operators and Doc 7300 – Convention on International Civil Aviation • The FAOSD program is a web-based reporting system created for storing and sharing information on ramp inspections among the civil aviation authorities of APAC states • The FAOSD website was implemented in August 2011 & it is hosted at ICAO ICT HQ, Montreal Foreign Air Operator Surveillance Database
FAOSD Program Objective and Scope • The objective of the FAOSD program is to create a database through safety-ramp inspections. • FAOSD provides a reference source in order to identify and analyze problems related to safety • Statistics provided by FAOSD as a safety tool can be used to improve safety and prevent civil aviation accidents and incidents. • The FAOSD Program is applicable to all foreign air operators using aircraft having Minimum Certified Takeoff Mass (MCTM) 5700 Kg and conducting operations in the APAC States. FAOSD – Database structure The FAOSD database structure has been implemented according to ICAO Codes. • State name – Doc 7910 Location indicators • Operator’s name – Doc 8585 - Aircraft Operating Agencies, Authorities and Services. • Aircraft – CICTT Aircraft Type Designator • Airport Name – Doc 7910 Location indicators Foreign Air Operator Surveillance Database
