Freedom Forum’s Budget Initiatives • Enhancing citizen access to information, including budget information. • Conducting Budget Transparency Survey in collaboration with International Budget Partnership (IBP). • Budget demystification and outreach through media. • Gender and pro-poor budget analysis. • Research on use and impact of aid and budget data in Nepal.

  3. Budget Overview for Fiscal Year 2014-15

  4. Functional classification under 10 sectors/ministries. • One-third of the expenditure goes to the ‘General Public Service’. • One-fifth of the expenditure go to ‘Health’ and ‘Education’, these are two of the most crucial social sectors.

  5. So, Why Map the Budget Data?

  6. To improve co-ordination between Budget Allocation and Foreign Aid.

  7. To see the relation between the Budget Allocation and Development Indicators.
