  10. ADDING IT UP • Requirement of minimum grade of 80 • MSL work, Module tests, and the Final Exam • Opportunities for retesting/reviewing • Differences in 085 and 095 • Standardized Final Exam

  11. DATA: • 104 students moved from ENG 095/095A to ENG 111 from Fall 2010 to Spring 2011 • 58%, or 60, passed ENG 111 with a C or higher • 42% failed, withdrew, or audited

  12. ENG 095 FALL SEMESTER 2011 • 178 STUDENTS: • Beginning Average Lexile Score: 1032 • Midterm Average Score: 1064 • Percentage Increase: 3.1%

  13. A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER • Supervise all testing • Provide sufficient testing time • Emphasize importance of diagnostic testing • Monitor student work in labs • Require a minimum amount of time in MSL • Data matters! Research is needed!
