STRATEGY:Make Inferences and Analyze Authors don’s always tell us every detail We have to analyze, or look carefully, at the information We have to make inferences, or figure out, what is happening To make inferences, we use what we know along with story clues to figure out what is missing.
SKILL: Make and Confirm Predictions When we make predictions, we make inferences using the story clues and what we know to tell what we think will happen next in a story. To make a prediction, look for story clues that “hint” at what might happen in the story Use your own knowledge and experience.
