The beginning Nikola Tesla was born on July 10,1856, in Smiljan, Austrian Empire. He was a Serbian American inventor. He gained experience in electrical engineering and telephony before emigrating to New York City to work for Thomas Edison
Working for Edison In 1882 Nikola Tesla began working for the Continental Edison Company in France, making and designing improvements for electrical equipment. Later he was invited to work for Edison Machine Works, which he accepted. He said to Edison that he could completely redesign the company's inefficient electric motors.
