  1. An Uplifting LifeMark 9:27 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

  2. Lives That Lift Are: • Sympathetic • Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. (Rom. 12:15) • Jesus wept. (Jn. 11:35) • But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, “Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.” (Lk. 10:33-35)

  3. Lives That Lift Are: • Refreshing • The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain; but when he arrived in Rome, he sought me out very zealously and found me. (2 Tim. 1:16-17) • For we have great joy and consolation in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother. (Philemon 7) • Therefore we have been comforted in your comfort. And we rejoiced exceedingly more for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all. (2 Cor. 7:13)

  4. Lives That Lift Are: • Spiritual • Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. (Gal. 6:1) • If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Col. 3:1-3)

  5. Lives That Lift Are: • Spiritual • And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? (1 Cor. 3:1-3) • For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Rom. 8:6)

  6. Lives That Lift Are: • Consistent • Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. (Rom. 2:1) • You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? For “the name of God isblasphemed among the Gentiles because of you”…(Rom. 2:21-24)

  7. Lives That Lift Are: • Consistent • They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work. (Titus 1:16) • Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. (Matt. 23:3) • Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. (Matt. 23:23)

  8. Lives That Lift Are: • Cooperative • For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function. (Rom. 12:3-4) • I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. (Phil. 4:2-3)

  9. Lives That Lift Are: • Zealous • who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (Titus 2:14) • Not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. (Rom. 12:11) • Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.” So Philip ran to him… (Acts 8:29-30)

  10. Lives That Lift Are: • Truthful • Therefore, putting away lying, “Leteach oneof youspeak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. (Eph. 4:25) • But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ. (Eph. 4:15) • I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. (2 John 4) Are We Living Lives That Lift Up?
