  2. University Structure • ‘The best career advice to give to the young faculty is: “Find out what you like doing best and get someone to pay you for doing it”.’

  3. Rationale for Summit • SPHIS faculty need individuals with clinical expertise. • SON faculty need biostatistical support and experts in public health. • Combining the skill sets from these two schools is needed and warranted and will enhance our research capabilities.

  4. Summit Goal • To accelerate our research and funding • Increase our Capabilities • Create synergy • Discover solutions that lead to greater knowledge

  5. Mechanisms for Achieving Goals • Constructing working groups (Today!) • Finding out what resources (researchers) exist in our specific topic area (at the other school) • Open lines of communication between researchers • Target funding mechanisms

  6. Today’s Agenda • SON researchers describe their research focus areas and where they could benefit from SPHIS support (1PM-2PM). • Statistical Consulting Center discusses their capabilities and assets (2PM-2:15PM). • SPHIS faculty discusses projects that could benefit from SON involvement (2:15PM-3PM) • Breakout sessions for working groups (3PM)
