Inventor Jones Frederick Jones was born on May 17, 1893 in Covington, Kentucky near Cincinnati, Ohio. After he served in World War 1, he returned to France and worked as a garage mechanic. With the experience of being a mechanic, Mr. Jones developed a self-starting gasoline motor along with devices for the developing movie industry. He also developed the first automatic refrigeration system for long-haul trucks, an air-conditioning unit for military field hospitals, and a refrigerator for a military field kitchen.
