  1. SUMMARY OF KEY ISSUES AND ACTIONS

  2. Following actions to be carried through to the next MCC meeting • Approval of the HIV/AIDS mainstreaming strategy • Finalisation of the SPV model • Proposals on the review of the roles of collaboration structures (aligning to the government delivery outcomes) • Programme performance • Need to find ways of working with DHS, DRDLR and CSOs on an integrated approach to implementation of the RWH projects. CSOs to share experiences and lessons on RWH at next MCC meeting • DWA to distribute information on allocations and expenditure per programme and per participating sector partner • A consultative review of allocations of unspent funds will be undertaken prioritising “vulnerable” programmes (e.g. WIN-SA) and based on sector partners’ exit strategies

  3. Local government support • Concerns noted regarding the proposed approach (ELGoSA), more thinking & inputs needed (coalface experiences, CSO inputs, aligning with DCoG framework, etc). Team given a week to present a response that considers the comments given in the meeting • Rural Development • Acknowledged that strategy still under development; however should ensure that it is premised on how functions related to the core mandate of DWA enhances rural development (and what is envisioned in the CRDS) • Institutional realignment • progress to date, emerging positions and proposed consultation; need to explore ways of directing sector involvement in the process • CSO participation • Increased participation needed at national and regional levels – inputs into the strategy and CSOs to think about how they can contribute to the outcomes
