  2. University of Nairobi, among top ten African Universities University of Nairobi (UoN) is ranked 1st in Kenya, 9th in Africa and 907 in the whole world in the just released July 2014 webometrics rankings.

  3. University of Nairobi takes 1st position countrywide • In Kenya it emerged as the best university by being ranked the1st, while in Africa it was ranked position 9 and 907 in the world.

  4. Openness It is notable that UoN also managed to secure position 44 in openness in the world, taking 1st position in Africa and indeed beating some of the world giants in this particular criterion.

The Ranking Web of Webometrics is the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions • and is aimed at promoting: • academic • web presence, • and supporting the Open Access initiatives • for increasing significantly the transfer of scientific and cultural knowledge generated by the university to the whole society.

  6. UoN improves worldwide ranking from 1,624 to 907thin one year • Last year, July 2013 UoN position 14 in Africa UoN position 1,624 worldwide • One year later, July 2014 UoN position 9 in Africa UoN position 907 worldwide
