C Come into the lab quietly and go directly to your computer • Do not touch any other computers, chairs, mice, etc... on the way.
O Only visit the approved Internet sites and only when you are given Teacher permission to do so. • Do not download anything unless you are told to do so or given permission • Never give out personal information or share your password/login • If you encounter anything that makes you uncomfortable turn off your monitor immediately, do not show your friends first, and tell a teacher
M Make sure you leave your workspace as you found it … or better! • Exit all programs correctly • Hang up headphones • Straighten up your keyboard and mouse • Push in your chair • Collect and throw away any trash or garbage on your way out • Take everything with you and don’t forget anything you printed
P Print only if you have permission. • Only try to print once and wait for it • It may take a bit longer the more prints that are being requested
U Use only your assigned computer • Do not move icons to the desktop • Do not change any systems settings without permission • Do not edit any files that do no belong to you • Help others with your mouth and not their mouse
T Treat your classmates, teachers and equipment with respect. • Help others only if they need help and the teacher is not available • Do no talk or type while the teacher is talking • Make sure your hands are clean • Do not hit down on the keyboard or mouse • Keep your hands off the monitors unless it is a touch screen • Keep all four feet of your chair on the floor at all times
E Eat and drink outside the lab only. • No food or drinks should be at your workstation • Keyboards will collect crumbs between and under the keys • The optical mouse may not work correctly or accurately on a dirty surface
R Read the screen before asking questions. • Read it again if you do not understand the first time • Consider if the information is useful you are being given • Look for any error messages that may be affecting your progress
