Introduction Today we are going to have isopod races. The isopods will start in the middle circle and move to the outer circle of the track. You will have lettuce and a wet paper towel if needed. Do you think the pill bugs or the sow bugs will move faster? If the animals started on their backs, which kind would win?
Observation and Discussion Ready, Set, Go!!! • Why do you think some isopods are faster than others? • Is there any way you could get your isopod to move directly to the finish line? • Are there things you can do to encourage your animal to be faster? • Do you think the same one would win tomorrow?
