Definitions • Deposition-the process of erosion stops when the transported particles fall out of the transporting medium and settle on a surface. • Erosion- stops when the transported particles fall out of the transporting medium and settle on a surface.
Water flow • The water cycle, also known as the hydrologic cycle or H2o cycle, describes the continuous movement of water on, above and below the surface of the earth. Water can change states among liquid, vapour, and ice at various places in the water cycle. Although the balance of water on Earth remains fairly constant over time, individual water molecules can come and go. The water moves from one reservoir to another, such as from river to ocean, or from the ocean to the atmosphere, by the physical processes of evaporation, condensation, precipitation, infiltration, runoff, and subsurface flow. In so doing, the water goes through different phases: liquid, solid, and gas.
Erosion &Deposition Erosion is defined as the removal of soil , sediment, regolith , and rock fragments from the landscape. Most landscapes show obvious evidence of erosion. Erosion is responsible for the creation of hills and valleys. It removes sediments from areas that were once glaciated, shapes the shorelines of lakes and coastlines, and transports material downslope from elevated sites.
Erosion • Erosion is the movement of the sediment.Erosion is usually gradual.Humans can speed it up .There are 5 agents of erosion :waterwindglaciersgravitywaves
Deposition • The dropping of sedimeants is deposition Deposition occurs when agents of erosion deposit (lay down, drop) sediment. What goes up must come down. What is carried must be dropped.
